Newport Police Chief Brent Wilmot came in on a snowy morning. We talked about the drive to work, his snow blower, and how the roads are. The Police Union addressed the Newport Selectboard on Monday night. Since the Chief is not a member of the Union and is on the negotiation team, he is unable to comment on much of the discussion, however we did talk about staffing issues, what would happen if officers leave, and much more.
